You are not free until you free yourself from trying to please everyone. Be the authentic you. Anybody that truly loves and cares about you will love you for who you are not for whom they want you to be. Be and do the very best you can. But if your best is not good enough for someone, honestly speaking, that is their problem, not yours. You cannot please everyone and still expect to please God. In the process of tying to please everyone you will hurt yourself, disappoint someone, compromise your beliefs and dishonor God. The truth is that you can’t please everyone. It is impossible. It is time wasting and energy-draining. You can be the most amazing person in town. You can overflow with love, kindness and mercy. You can be the most generous, warm-hearted and kind human there has ever been, but there will always be someone that will not like you. Seeking to make everyone happy is a sure way to guarantee yourself a life of misery. “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10) If you really want to be happy, free yourself from attempting to please everyone. Only God’s opinion matters. Seek only to please Him. Only God’s approval matters. Seek only his blessing.
