An organized life is more fulfilling, and less stressful. Order simplifies life and promotes effectiveness. Disorder complicates life, creates chaos, and fosters confusion, and causes unnecessary relational tension. Most quarrels and conflicts are caused by preventable chaotic conditions. I read a story of a husband who is facing life in prison for killing his wife in a senseless and preventable fight over dirty dishes. Countless couples daily quarrel over missing socks. Many others leave home each morning late, angry, and frustrated because they have to hunt for house or car keys daily. Keeping your home organized and house chores fairly distributed saves you from unnecessary frustrations. Toys, shoes, socks and clothes littered all over the floor; drinks left at the computer desk; keys thrown randomly everywhere after work; these are small things but each of them presents great potential for arguments and fights. It’s the little things that trigger large explosive quarrels in relationships. It takes teamwork to keep your home organized and things placed in predictable places. “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
