Jesus wanted to teach his disciples a great lesson on faith and multiplication in John chapter 6. He knew they did not have enough money to feed the 5000 men and let alone the women and children that had followed him. Many scholars think it was probably around 20,000 people that were hungry that day.

Jesus was testing them when he said Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 200 denarii would have been equal to 8 months’ pay and had an approximate value of about 35,000,000 Ugandan shilgs . Even that would not have been enough to satisfy their hunger.
Jesus was about to teach them that little is much when we release it into his hands. He is the multiplier and he brings in the increase. You will never be blessed until you learn to release what God has given you. The little boy gave all he had that day, not knowing what he would eat, but he gave it and trusted Jesus….
After every one was fed, there was 12 baskets of food left. The more that was given out the more it increased….That is how it works. It will work for you as well.

Some of you are struggling with releasing what you have. You want to give more than you have been giving. Some of you are struggling with the tithe issue. I challenge you today, let it go, release it and watch what God can do for you in your life. When you learn to give, you will be set free and look for places to sow into…….The devil wants to hold you back and hold on to your finances, he can’t have them when you give them to Jesus….
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
