Let the Redeemed Say So
You have begun to live the new life, in which you are being made new and are becoming like the One who made you. Colossians 3:10
I wonder if Jesus doesn’t muster up a slight smile as he sees his lost sheep come straggling into the fold–the beaten, broken, dirty sheep who stand at the door looking up at the Shepherd asking, “Can I come in? I don’t deserve it, but is there room in your kingdom for one more?” The Shepherd looks down at the sheep and says, “Come in, this is your home.”
Salvation is a process that’s done, that’s secure, that none can take away from you. Sanctification is the lifelong process of being changed from one degree of glory to the next, growing in Christ, putting away the old, taking on the new.
The Psalmist David would tell us that those who have been redeemed will say so! If we’re not saying so, perhaps it’s because we’ve forgotten what it is like tone redeemed. Let the redeemed of the earth say so! Describe how you have put away the old and taken on the new.
Heavenly Father, We know that with You today is not just another day. It’s a new opportunity, another chance, a new beginning. We know that when we enter Your presence with praise, You enter our circumstances with power. Today we praise You in spite of what’s going on in this world, for You told us we are not of this world even though we are in it. We know of all the sad Words of tongue or pen, the saddest of these, is it might have been. Many of Your people regret past mistakes and lost opportunities, but You are our God, the God of the here and now, and we know Your people can start again right where they are. I ask that You give them the confidence to concentrate on what You have for them to accomplish, and give them the strength, anointing and favor to go out and conquer. Give each of us direction as we follow the plan You have laid out for us today. In Jesus name we pray, Amen 🙏
