What’s Love got to do with it?…everything!
2nd John 2: 6 “This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.” 1st Peter 1: 22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart.”
I have tweaked the following chapter beginning at verse four just a bit. You might say I’ve personalized them. During this time of uncertainty regarding COVID-19, we as the Body of Christ need to remind ourselves and one another what we have, and who we are in Him. God Is Love, and perfect love cast out all fear, there is NO FEAR IN GOD. In another post I said, it is not the coronavirus the world is afraid of, the world is afraid of death and judgment. The truth is, death is inevitable. However, how we respond to Christ Jesus (in love) will determine the final outcome, judgement. I told my wife the other day that I am very patient, I just don’t like to wait. Guess what, I wasn’t kidding. It sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s the truth. On the other hand, the work that He has begun in me shall continue, and He works perfectly. Do not beat yourselves up when we miss the mark, just 1st John 1: 9 it and get back on the bicycle of life and ride until you can do it with no hands, blindfolded. Christ will see us through.
1st Cor. 13: 1 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love (I) suffers long and (I am) kind; love (I do not) envy; love (I do not) parade (myself), (I am not) puffed up; 5 (I do not) behave rudely, (I do not) seek my own, (I am not easily) provoked, (I) think no evil; 6 (I do not) rejoice in iniquity, but (I rejoice) in the truth; 7 (I) bear all things, (I) believe all things, (I) hope all things, (I) endure all things. 8 (I am not a failure). But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” To be continued…
